Sincerely Me: Worry

In this large and vast world of millions of thoughts and feelings, the one that overtakes the reigns of the human mind is the gnawing feeling of worry. Everybody in this world seems to worry, let it be an old man sitting in his home looking at his phone anxiously to check if his abroad resident son has called or not, or a mother constantly looking at the door to check if her child has returned home or not.

Worry takes over the minds of graceful souls like a plague that captures a beautiful part of a city. And what does it do? Consume and devour all the happiness, youth, and grace from there and throw it far back to the back of the universe from where no one has ever appropriately recovered. Every phase of your life, you’ll see someone worrying. However, the magnitude of their worry might vary.

A child of 3 years has worry and so does a person in their 30s. While the child is worrying about his broken toy car, a 30-year-old man is worrying about his actual broken car. Worries are the same. Everybody worries. But sometimes people get so lost in their worries that they start to misplace reality in a world of made-up situations.

“I heard something happened in some corner of the world, what if it happens to you?” Why would it happen to me? yearns the heart to ask back. I mean until you start jinxing it, will it really happen? I don’t think so! One can worry, I mean it’s a human tendency to worry. But drawing the line when your sanity is at the line and your thinking capacity is being questioned is essential.

Learn More
