Interview with Amsterdam Initiative: NDSM Cleans Up the neighborhood
<p>Their Instagram describes them as a “group of people that want to make the neighborhood nice and tidy!”. But the <em>NDSM Cleans Up</em> collective is so much more than that.</p>

<p>Located in the NDSM neighborhood of northern Amsterdam, the <em>NDSM Cleans Up</em> initiative has been picking up trash for about a year now. The neighborhood is very industrial-looking and lacking in nature, so keeping it clean helps a great deal. On a monthly basis, they gather in order to clear the heaps of litter surrounding the area. They spread out in little groups to pick up as much as possible. And, while cleaning the neighborhood remains their main goal, they've built a strong community with shared sustainable goals.</p>
