Narges Mohammadi: Nobel Prize Winner, Prisoner Of Conscience
<p>OnFriday, October 6th, an imprisoned activist in Iran was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize.</p>
<p>The Associated Press reports that Narges Mohammadi, 51, was recognized for her struggle for both women’s rights and the abolition of the death penalty in the face of one of the world’s most oppressive regimes (<a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/nobel-peace-prize-announced-oslo-074939247.html" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">1</a>).</p>
<p>The honor makes Mohammadi the 19th woman in history to receive the Nobel Prize, and the second Iranian woman alongside Shirin Ebadi, who received the prize in 2003.</p>
