Why the Republicans Chose Mike Johnson
<p>These days, together with the Family Policy Alliance, Heritage Foundation, Family Research Council and others, the <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/anti-lgbtq-coalition-targets-equality-act-name-america-s-children-n1258884" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Alliance Defending Freedom backs a coalition</a> called the Promise to America’s Children. This coalition opposes the nondiscrimination protections in the <a href="https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/4060836-democrats-reintroduce-equality-act-amid-pride-month/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">LGBTQ-inclusive Equality Act proposed by Democrats</a>.</p>

<p>Occasionally you’ll hear certain anti-gay Republicans claim that they support gay rights, as if saying it makes it so. This is of course an <a href="https://tuckerlieberman.medium.com/trump-gets-a-failing-grade-on-lgbtq-rights-734318d77ba8" rel="noopener">empty and false claim</a>. They’re here to tear down inclusion of trans people and gay people alike.</p>
