Lionel Messi: One Last Dance
<p>Argentina breathes, dreams & lives football. The football crazy nation had an agonizingly long wait of 28 years to reach another FIFA World Cup final. This time it was led by Messi. The stage was set for him to eclipse Maradona & be called the greatest footballer of all time. The burden of being the heir to Maradona’s throne was about to be lifted.</p>
<p>Messi had singlehandedly wriggled & tiptoed his way through to the gates of Maracana with his dazzling & twinkling feet. The final was taking place against Germany at the home of Argentina’s arch rivals Brazil. Imagine India winning the cricket world cup in Islamabad?</p>
<p>The fairytale story of the diminutive Argentine looked set to get completed. But destiny had other plans. Germany beat Argentina 1–0 in extra time and broke a million hearts. Messi was awarded the best player of the tournament but he barely seemed interested in that. As he walked past the famous WC trophy, someone whispered:</p>
