The anime world bringing the Turkish and the Japanese communities together
<p>Being a foreigner in Turkey, I cannot tell what other cultures are favoured to them, or more correctly said, close to the new generations in this world of globalization. Finding Japanese events or anime/manga events is like heaven to me, but as much as I’m glad, I’m surprised by the response of the Turks. Actually, the organizers and the whole staff of Comikon are big time fans of the culture; meaning older generations are as well very interested in this kind of thing.</p>
<p>From the very beginning, the most obvious number of fans were the cosplayers (costume playing roles of characters in anime/comics). There was a competition for the best of them, as well as a competition for singing, and drawing manga comics. Their costumes were no joke, some of them look so intricate, they either spent countless hours and effort on them, or too much money. There was a display of various costumes from animes, games, and cartoons, belonging to a lady in a kimono with a twist to it, a huge fox tail and some ears to match up.</p>
