Iris Apfel was Right — Beige WILL Kill Us
<p>The bright and playful colours of the automobiles! Orange and red, bright green and blue. There was no white, no grey, no black, and no beige — none of the colours on our roads now. What’s this about? Do we no longer take pleasure in colour? Or do we want to play down the fact that we’re all driving far too much, and the automobile is a thing of ugly necessity? Or…?</p>
<p>Now vehicles of brighter or non-neutral colour must be specially ordered. They’re a status symbol. Cars of such colour are for those who can pay; workers are left with the utilitarian…</p>
<p>On many levels, I’m feeling a need for a colour break.</p>
