Christians Keep Telling Me God Wants Me To Suffer

One of the many reasons I’m not a Christian is that everyone seems to have a different interpretation of what the Bible means.

They pick and choose which bits to believe and which to quietly discard, like those who preach that “man shall not sleep with man” but happily eat shellfish and keep their beards nice and neat.

Honestly, the only part of Leviticus that makes any sense is the ban on wearing linen with wool because seriously, what possible weather event would that combination work for?

If there’s one thing, however, that I wish Christians would get their stories straight on, it’s which version of God is real — the one from the Old Testament or the New? Plague and pestilence or puppies and kittens?
