The Hudson Bay Company: Built on Evil Deeds
<p>In 1670 the hudson bay company was founded and was granted permission by King charles the second. Over three million square miles of land and the privileges for trading and mineral rights flowing into the hudson bay. This land was owned and already inhabited by Inuit and first nations communities. King Charles the second didnt look at the indeougous as people and ignored their claim to land. The only land he would not steal from that of British subjects, or “the Subjects of any other Christian Prince or State.” In other words, any other European power. To end all arguments about whose land it is King Charles would change the name of the region to Ruperts Land in honor of his cousin, Prime Rupert. This hatful act of control from 1600 europe wouldnt be the last or even the worst to come for the indigenous people,</p>
