Lavender Bay ferry wharf

When I go and shoot this lovely part of Lavender Bay, I always find myself wanting to capture this unique-looking boardwalk. Located on the north-west side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Lavender Bay is a harbourside suburb on the lower north shore of Sydney which also has some great picnic spots. The Lavender Bay ferry wharf featured below is only used for access to private vessels.

Why I love this image of Lavender Bay ferry wharf?

I find the shadows on the boardwalk very eye-catching. Also the colour of the wooden rails contrasts well with the blue hues in this image. I like how the wharf is positioned in the middle of the image as it allows our eyes to lead in like we’re going through a tunnel. The blue hues add a freshness and gives a clean look to this photo. Notice how you can see Luna Park on the left side to this image. I also love the wooden railings and boardwalks in this image as it gives a great nautical and coastal feel to it.
