<p>While at Shanti Bhavan, Megala can focus on the future, something that her mother and sisters cannot do. She is not letting that opportunity go to waste. Megala’s tenacity and determination are admirable. She is one of the top students in her class, a leader in the dorm, and an exceptional athlete. Her teachers remark that she is among the most unshakeable and steady students in the school’s history. She is always looking to deepen her knowledge and think outside the breadth of the curriculum. This past fall, while on a call with one of the top universities in the United States, Megala asked the admissions counselor about the impact of colonization on the school. To say that the counselor was speechless is an understatement. It’s this insatiable curiosity and drive that make Megala a figure of respect and admiration for the younger children on campus; they aim to be just like her and her influence will be felt on campus for generations to come.</p>
