I’m Not Against Gender Pronouns But

A couple of years ago, I moved to Europe from the Middle East. I started to travel and met great people on the road. Some of them introduced themselves with their pronouns and I always tried to respect that.

One time I was hanging out with a group of British friends that I recently met. I referred to one of the people in the group as he.

As you may have guessed that person wanted to be referred to as she and yes she told me that when we first met. It was an honest mistake but she started to scream at me. Her reaction was so strong that I just froze. The whole group acted like I insulted her on purpose. She told me that I kept refusing to call her with the right pronouns.
