Startuping — Being an entrepreneur is like being a gambler pt.4

You can certainly control your effort, emotions, and actions but you can not control the outcome. Many times our efforts do go in vain, not every brilliant idea we spent weeks executing is going to give us results. This is also a deeply challenging part of starting a business; we naturally expect the hours we put in to yield us a return but it sometimes doesn’t.

The reason many people say entrepreneurship is not easy is because there are multiple instances when you would be working on something only to see that thing fail spectacularly. This raises the question, what should an entrepreneur do? Even if they work hard there is no guarantee of success. In my opinion, recognizing that there is always a non-zero probability of failure is healthy. It can help you navigate through tough situations. By detaching yourself from the outcome, you’re much more likely to succeed.
