Effective Accelerationism, but Not

A few months ago, I was randomly invited to an Effective Altruist gathering. [They must have forgotten how I outed their Bay Area recipients for embezzlement of funds, just a month before the Bankman-Fried hit the fan?] There, Jill introduced me to the Effective Accelerationists, describing them as tech-positive, working to create market-viable solutions, instead of relying on charity to solve the world’s problems. I said I wanted to talk to more of her people. Thus began the elusive chase!

Meeting in SF weeks later, Jill had gathered a crew to talk spirituality, and mentioned that some of the folks I hoped to meet would be there. Sadly, they were not. A few weeks later, invited to the same cafe in the city, I found-out upon arrival that the *other* pair of accelerationists who I hope to meet… hadn’t planned on attending. They just forgot to mention that to me.

Website
