3 Lessons I learned from Struggling 14 Days in Glasgow

People say you only experience life once, thinking about it. But maybe I’m born without expectation. Thus I did not have any expectations for my life journey including this city, Glasgow.

The thing I often remember before the flight was ‘can I survive for 3 days and not die?’ I know it was extreme thought but that’s the only concern of mine. Other students probably made lists of what will they do, researched the culture, prepared the jetlag, and were excited about everything. Meanwhile, until my 3rd day here I still think it’s only a short trip. No more.

Nevertheless, every day I wake up, nothing changes. Still under 15 decrees in a strange circumstance. No family. No friends. Different language with an unfamiliar accent. I tried to understand what happened here. I sat still on my bed. Hugged my thin blanket. Leaned on a small pillow.
