Is Colorblindness a Disability… or Just a Nuisance?
<p>Color preferences are personal and open to interpretation. But some people are considered colorblind and may not even know it— at least not until someone points out their offbeat color choices. After all, how they see the world seems normal to them.</p>
<p>I didn’t realize that my kids viewed the world through a different lens until my oldest child brought home preschool artwork where every face was green. I should have suspected, though, since my father was colorblind. Color vision deficiency, as experts call it, results from genetic transmission and cannot be prevented. And most people learn to live with it.</p>
