J. Cole in Copenhagen

After not touring for two years, J. Cole came back announcing the ‘4 Your Eyez Only’ tour around Europe. I attended his previous tour in London but this year I will be staying in Copenhagen, that did not stop me from booking a ticket way before arriving in Denmark. As an avid concert goer, this was surprisingly my first concert outside of England, I assumed every concert would leave me feeling somewhat the same and have a similar vibe throughout Europe. However, this concert triggered many emotions and thoughts that I had never experienced in this setting before which urged me to write.

Out of all of the rap artists I listen to, J. Cole was not the hard hitting one. Words he said were always quite soft for me and, unlike other rappers, he never moved me as much to say he changed my life. However, this does not take away the meaning behind his lyrics, they were not hard hitting struggle lyrics but they still were able to speak my truth as a working class black British woman.
