Last week I went to Copenhagen, Denmark. It was my first time traveling outside the country since the trip I took to Italy with my friends Corey and Amanda in 2018, a vacation booked when at least two-thirds of us were in the throes of romantic angst. On that trip we drank a lot of Aperol spritzes, ate arancini from a beachside stand most mornings we were in Sicily, and had the best pasta of our lives in Rome. Due to a language mix-up we also accidentally ordered seven sandwiches instead of a charcuterie board. It was a great vacation and I returned to the United States more tan and improbably more relaxed than I had been before. (I had not been relaxed when we left.)
