International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-arid Tropics (ICRISAT) is international non-profit organization that undertakes scientific research for development in agriculture. headquartered in Patancheru, Hyderabad, Telangana. It is spread in a whooping 3400 acres containing majorly cultivated fields, few water bodies, wooded patches, scrubland and a castle, yes one from the past. Due to less disturbance and diversity of habitat, many diverse species of birds flock here. Winter is especially a great time for bird watchers to have a excellent birding session. Prior permission needs to be taken to enter the campus.
