Bilkis Bano Gangrape : Case Brief (Bilkis Yakub Rasool v. Union of India and ors)
<p>The factual background in which these writ petitions have been filed is that following the aforesaid unfortunate and grave incident, a<a href="https://roastoup.com/4/6865821" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank"><strong> First Information Report</strong></a> was registered against unknown accused, on 04.03.2002. The Investigation Agency filed a closure report stating that the accused could not be traced and the said closure report was accepted by the Judicial Magistrate vide Order dated 25.03.2003. The closure report was challenged by the petitioner-victim- Bilkis Yakub Rasool, before this Court in Writ Petition (Crl.) №118 of 2003. This Court directed the reopening of the case and transferred the investigation of the same to the Central Bureau of Investigation.</p>
