ARE THESE CHARACTERS ACTUALLY NORMAL? OR WE’VE JUST NORMALIZE THEM.

We can all agree that a lot of things that are not really ideal have been normalized in our society today. From places to things and most importantly, characters.

There are somethings we now see as 'normal' that are actually characters born out of trauma. We made these things normal even though they are an indicator of the presence of previously unhealed trauma.

Let's talk about some of them;

1. DIFFICULTY TRUSTING OTHERS

Its now common narrative, "Men are scum" "trust women at your own peril" "trust no one, even yourself" everyone now tosses these words like they are nothing or like they are the ideal.

But everyone is ignoring the fact that words like these come from hurt people. Someone who has never or rarely been let down wouldn't come out in the open and brag about the fact that they have lost their ability to trust. A person who hasn't faced constant disappointment wouldn't tell you that trusting was a bad thing.

It is healthy to trust people. But people who've been let down severally or have seen others being let down constantly probably wouldn't believe that.
