The Oriente Station, inaugurated in 1998, is the central train station of Lisbon. Designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, it is a significant transit station that combines a train, subway, long-distance bus transportation hub, and a shopping mall opened in 1998 in anticipation of the World Expo. Nearly two decades later, he was responsible for New York’s new World Trade Center station, using the same materials and iconic design.
