If you were to ask me which section of the Taipei Grand Trail is the most worth visiting, I would say it has to be section 3. This section boasts the most beautiful and diverse views, including multi-faceted volcanic craters in Xiaoyoukeng, Taipei’s highest point Qixing mountain, stunning grasslands, water buffaloes in Qingtiangang, and dark forests.
However, due to some unfortunate accidents, this was also the most terrifying journey for me.
If we look at the topography, we may think it is not a very difficult trail, but the beginning part of the trail was actually a bit harsh. In addition, there was a smell of sulfur that made me pretty uncomfortable, and I felt a lack of oxygen when starting the hike.
