For those not familiar, icebreakers involve starting a gathering with each person stating their name, preferred pronouns, and answering a question.
The last one I attended, we had to state our song of the summer (I went with “Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side” by the Magnetic Fields). For another, we shared what we were likely to buy on Prime Day (a new monitor), and yet another, the best place we’ve visited (Barcelona).
I find icebreakers tedious, as they take a ton of time and I’ve got shit to do. But they do serve a purpose — they let everyone share their preferred pronouns.
