My Homesharing Journey

Having spent the majority of the past decade living in homesharing arrangements, I’ve come to appreciate all the great memories, bonds, and learning experiences that I got out of building a home with others. I fondly recall evening jam sessions, fun chats, board games, meals, and all the other little things that added so much colour to my life.

This journey, however, wasn’t all sunshine and roses. There was friction along the way — most of it preventable and much of which I now draw upon for inspiration at Sparrow. In particular, my journey was borne out of necessity during some stressful moments in my life. I hold onto these moments as a vivid reminder of where I came from and why having a safe and affordable place to call home should be a right for all Canadians.
