A Body Image and Shame Resilience Journey
<p>I watched her move past me on the sidewalk and fought the urge to curtsy. She stepped through the mall walkers and bargain shoppers like a tawny, long-legged deer before it learns the dangers of hunters and headlights.</p>
<p>Her shorts hugged her firm hips and willowy waist. She shook out her mass of curls as she undid the messy bun at the nape of her neck. Shoulders thrown back, she led with her breasts which were cupped in a pale pink demi bra that showed through her snug white t-shirt. I imagined her practicing the archaic book-on-the-head posture exercise to develop that walk. I struggled not to gawk and managed a series of side-eyed glances instead.</p>
