I love comedies, and one of my all-time favorite comedies is the 1998 French comedy film, Le Dîner de Cons. With the majority of the film being shot in one location, use of rapid-fire dialogue, witty wordplay, and superb acting, sometimes that’s all it takes to make a good film.
There was a particular scene where one of the main characters named François Pignon was solicited by the other main character to call a writer friend to inquire about his wife’s whereabouts. Pignon pretended to be a Belgian film producer, funny stereotypical accent and all, interested in turning the writer’s recent novel into a film.
