Whether you’ve been a traveler or not, chances are you’ve seen some of the world’s most well known landmarks. Not literally, of course, but through videos and image — usually taken by professionals — who have visited those landmarks for you and have already taken the most captivating shots thought possible.
I’m no professional, but around the turn of the new year, I had the chance to visit the beautiful cities of Amsterdam, Paris, and London as part of a trip arranged by EF Tours. When I carried along a film camera of mine with three fresh rolls of 35 mm film, I was asked by someone “What point is there in taking so many photos when they’re some of the most photographed places possible?” The simple answer was, the pictures I would come to take were my shots, my perspective, my experience — not some stock photographer’s.
