A70-year-old, self-described, “Ex-MAGA Granny” served sixty days in federal prison after pleading guilty for her role in the January 6, 2021 insurrection and attempted coup d’etat against the US government.
That was Pamela Hemphill’s first experience inside a prison cell and contributed to her seeing the light and then, ever so slowly but surely, disavowing and denouncing Donald Trump and his entire MAGA cult.
Hemphill, a breast cancer survivor, is from rural Idaho (although it may safely be argued that the whole state is the picture-perfect definition of “rural”). She is also the grandmother of two, and, yes, she is/was a once dyed-in-the-wool, never-say-die Trumpanzee.
