Pedroza recently co-hosted the St. Ann's Corner of Harm Reduction (SACHR) 2023 Grace Awards for the third year in a row, a nonprofit founded in 1990 by its CEO, Joyce Rivera. The organization's mission to help underserved communities afflicted by drugs and HIV/Aids is why Rivera started it in the first place; the public service pioneer of Puerto Rican descent has created a treatment model for individuals who have an addiction by providing meaningful resources, unlike other centers, SACHR is rooted in empathy and dignity.
This year's awards ceremony celebrated and recognized individuals making an impact in business, public service, and philanthropy, namely Chef José Andrés, for the work his organization, World Central Kitchen, provides — an institution designed to be the first on the scene when domestic and global catastrophes strike with a purpose to feed people.
