3 Reasons Why I Closed My PlayStation Plus Account

When Sony announced their huge price increase for PlayStation Plus subscriptions, I immediately logged into my PS account and canceled my PlayStation subscription — I had previously been enjoying PlayStation Extra having paid a slight step increase from my previous Essential account.

The price increase just confirmed the decision I’d been waffling on — the membership, with the significantly increased costs, was no longer worth the price of admission. Here’s my reasoning as to why:

  1. No Refunds
The PlayStation store does not offer refunds for purchases. Ever. Once you buy it, it’s yours. Tough shit if you don’t like the game or for whatever reason you cannot play it. Sony offers zero recourse for requesting a refund. Great news especially considering most A-title games are going to run US$80 (or more) that, once spent, is forever gone.
