Technological Breakthrough- The Sony PlayStation

The 20th century was full of technological innovations in gaming such as the Nintendo Entertainment system which was extremely successful and its successor the Super Nintendo, which was also highly successful. However, one piece of technology that changed the gaming world forever was the PlayStation 1. The PlayStation was a home video game console that was developed and marketed by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was first released in Japan on the 3rd of December, 1994 and in North America on September 9, 1995. The PlayStation was part of the 5th generation of gaming consoles which were characterized by 32/64 bit/3-D graphics and much more imaginative gameplay.
