The Marvel cinematic universe has set the bar high, maybe too high, and possibly to its detriment.
It all began on May 2nd, 2008 when a B list or some would even argue a C list comic book character hit the big screen for the first time; his name was Iron Man. Played by the brilliant Robert Downey Jr., it was as if he was destined for this role.
A post-credit scene plays with a cameo from Nick Fury, played by one BAMF Samuel L Jackson (another perfect casting), who mentions the “Avengers Initiative,” the rest is history.
Childhood dreams coming true (Paramount Pictures)
After thirty-two films and an action-packed Infinity Saga, the MCU is now at a crossroads.
The Infinity Saga lasted just a little over a decade and had many great villains like Killmonger, Loki, Red Skull, Ultron, Ego the Living Planet, Baron Zemo, Klaw, and many others we’re sure we missed. Still, they were just small fry. The main boss, the big baddy, was none other than The Mad Titan himself, Thanos (Josh Brolin), a villain obsessed with keeping everything “perfectly balanced, as all things should be.”
