<p>So, I ask myself, why do we celebrate an Irish tradition in America? I want to know especially because I have some Irish ancestry.</p>
<p>Well, it begins with a 16-year-old British boy who was kidnapped by Irish pirates in the 5th century from his wealthy family’s estate, transported to Ireland, and put into slavery.</p>
