Are New Yorkers the kindest people in the world?

I’ve visited many cities over the past couple of decades, from Tokyo to Buenos Aires to Los Angeles, but when someone asks me what my favourite city is, there’s never any hesitation when I reply that it’s New York City. This is often met with a look of surprise or confusion. New York? Why do you love New York so much? Isn’t it just a big, busy city like any other? Aren’t the people super rude and unfriendly? Aren’t they always rushing around? The person usually has this image of New Yorkers as stressed, busy, impatient people who shove you out of the way to get where they need to go.
