Transgender Woman Struggling With Living in a Man’s Life
<p>It was a simple trip back to my hometown to visit my siblings over a summer weekend for what has affectionately become <em>Millsapalooza!</em> Once a year, we travel to our childhood home to catch up on what is happening in each of our lives. I live farthest away, traveling close to 9 hours to get home. But it is always worth the trip.</p>
<p>I am a transgender woman who is not living publicly as my authentic self. And that can engender some deep anxiety. Anxiety over not being seen and simultaneous fear over being discovered as different - perceived as a peculiarity by people who have known me for over 60 years.</p>
