Barcelona: the City with a Vibrant Soul

In May, my wife and I embarked on a long-awaited trip to the captivating city of Barcelona. Leaving behind the lackluster Stansted Airport, the excellent Barcelona Airport greeted us, setting the tone for an unforgettable cultural trip. This blog post isn’t a list of things to see as many travel articles are but our feelings and responses to the vibrant atmosphere and rich cultural tapestry that is Barcelona.

Embracing the Rhythms of Everyday Life

We had booked a city center hotel. As we arrived late, we caught a taxi to our hotel. We engaged the driver in conversation as we often do in our travels. He responded warmly to our questions, although a little reluctantly at first because he felt his English wasn’t good enough. It was good enough for us, so we persisted. He wasn’t a Barcelonian, he came from southern Spain, but had made his home here. That’s got to mean something.
