Mass Shootings: One Year after Uvalde

In a matter of days, the Serbian government was able to reduce illegal gun ownership by 90 percent. Uprooting a culture of violence will be much harder.

Here we are about 140 days into the year and we have over 221 incidents of mass shootings in the country. We have congress members, who are paid to solve these types of dilemmas, (notice I did not say problem) claiming there is nothing that can be done. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tennessee) shocked everyone, except maybe his GOP colleagues when after a school shooting stated unequivocally. “We’re not going to fix it.” Burchett voted against a bill expanding background checks on gun sales in 2021, something about 94%. of American’s in both parties are in favor of. Why? Because his daddy told him once, “Buddy, if somebody wants to take you out and doesn’t mind losing their life, there not a whole heck of a lot you can do about it.” And we’re paying him $174,000 per year plus expenses for that level of non-committment?

Website
