<p>Two months later, a 12-year-old Belgian boy found their bodies rotting in the snow. When American officials came to examine the remains, they found broken bones, gouged eyes, countless stab wounds, and severed fingers. It was obvious &mdash; these men were tortured to death.</p> <p>They came from the segregated 333rd Field Artillery Battalion and were among the first military trained for combat rather than being put in service positions.
