<p>I&rsquo;m not from Mexico, but I&rsquo;ve lived in this beautiful country for almost 3 years. Not being from here has given me a unique perspective on things that feel acutely &ldquo;Mexican.&rdquo; I imagine for Mexicans these four things below might just seem &ldquo;normal.&rdquo; It&rsquo;s like the classic joke: Do Italians call Italian food&hellip;<em>food?</em>&nbsp;If it&rsquo;s what you&rsquo;re used to, if it&rsquo;s what you&rsquo;ve grown up with, you might not even notice how special it is.</p> <p>I&rsquo;ve traveled to more than 50 counties. I haven&rsquo;t been everywhere&mdash;<em>but it&rsquo;s on my list</em>, as the saying goes. Some versions of these four things below might be practiced in other countries, but I know them from Mexico. I love them because they make living in Mexico feel more fun, more connected, and more charming overall.
