Lessons From a Cantina: A Day from a Larger Mexican Story

Mexico is not only my home but is one of my favorite countries and one that does not get talked about for the reasons that it should. If you have watched the news or read the newspapers in the last twenty years you have likely read about violence, drugs, or students on spring break. These things are true. They do happen, though most of the reasons why they happen (the Americans love the drugs!) are discussed far less. There are many worthy books and articles on these subjects and you can find them with a Google search. This article and many of the following on my continuous series of articles on Mexico is about appreciating and understanding Mexico, its people, its culture, its food, and its never-ending supply of interesting characters and stories.
