Windows can’t be installed because this PC has an unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware.

In this post I will share with you all about this Windows 10 update issue that I have been facing, this issue has to be solved by changing your driver partition, so let’s start there, by default there are two types of partition that Windows 0S supports.

MBR — Master Boot Record.

GPT — GUID Partition Table.

Going in depth of the partition styles is not the scope of this post, continuing with our mentioned issue above, how do we convert the MBR partition to GPT, as mentioned the error “Windows can’t be installed because this PC has an unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware” this happens due to Motherboard’s supporting drive/s of both partition, and we want all our local drive on the PC to have the latest and advanced GPT partition style. Converting partition of the local drive requires formatting, which means you will have to go through the lucrative process of taking a backup first, and then converting the partition type, but I have found an easy way that doesn’t require you to format the drive to change it’s partition, and it’s possible through this software EaseUS Partition Master. I will now walk you all through the steps for converting MBR to GPT using this software.
