Jay&Rikki | Turkey 2023 | Istanbul

On Thursday after visiting Ephesus, we flew from Izmir to Istanbul, and taxied to the neighborhood of Galata, on the Western side of central Istanbul (the European side). We went for a walk in Karakoy, a nearby neighborhood on the water. We had rooftop drinks, and had a traditional Istanbul street food; their fish sandwich. We also ducked into a packed Baklava store, which felt like a Nordstrom’s but just for Baklava, and went a little overboard.

Friday morning after coffee at a nearby cafe, we walked to Old Town Istanbul, with all of the sights. We walked across the bridge and into the Egyptian spice market, then up the hill to the Grand Bazaar, the famous market with thousands of stalls.
