My Family Trip to Ireland

Well, it’s day 1 of our trip, if you don’t count the 35 hours flying halfway around the world to get here! Not a particularly bad trip, but it’s SUCH a long way.

Having compression stockings and an exit aisle seat made the flights infinitely more bearable. What a relief finally catching up with Keeley in Heathrow after a harrowing wait to get through Customs. She had flown Singapore Airlines; I had used my frequent flyer points as I always do to fly Qantas.

I grabbed a couple of litre bottles of Baileys — 2 for £25 was too good a bargain to pass by. We really didn’t need any extra weight to carry, and you’re not supposed to take more than 100ml bottles of liquid on the plane!
