The Consequences of Saying No: Why Women Need to “Lead Men On”

I recently watched a video in which a woman described a horrific encounter with a man. She explained the man wanted her number and she said no. The man then picked up a brick and hit her before escaping into a car. She was in a crowd of people and no one made a move to assist her.

The man was just allowed to escape.

The woman’s face is swollen as she tries to explain the situation through tears. She questions why a man would hit her with a brick for simply saying no and why no one stepped up to help her.

Why do women say yes when they mean no

I’ve been thinking about this topic for a few weeks now, and the video just spurred my fingers to type. You don’t have to go too far beneath the surface to understand the reason, safety.

I’ve spoken to a few women lately and asked them the same question. “If a stranger approaches you and asks for your number, and you are not interested, how do you respond to him?”
