The Significant Role Technology Plays in the Success of Banksy

Street art is used as a means of conveying messages to provoke a level of reaction and discussion, located in public spaces such as sidewalks and building walls. As well as being viewed physically, technology allows for this form of art to be shared. <img alt="" src="https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:342/1*ePfnv248U-P3cJkDmDZOag.png" style="height:233px; width:311px" /> Figure 1 Although street art has a different intent to graffiti they are both considered illegal as they are not always done with the permission of property owners. Artists must balance the conflicting aims of promoting and protecting themselves. They want to share their work and grow awareness however they also want to avoid exposure of identity due to the illegal nature (Barbour, 2013). Street artists tend to display their work in public spaces as they think it should be available to the community, unlike other more traditional forms of art (Hansen & Danny, 2015). They believe that the space around us should be made up of art rather than advertisements and signage.
