The Maybe True Story of How Zabar’s Saved a Banksy
<p>It was only recently that I discovered our New York City neighborhood was home to genuine graffiti by the anonymous street artist known as Banksy. Located on the south wall of Designer Shoe Warehouse at 79th Street and Broadway, the charming image appeared on the shoe store’s tan brick wall October 20, 2013.</p>
<p>“It was a Sunday when my brother Stanley and I heard a big commotion across the street from the shop,” Saul Zabar recalled during our phone call, “at a building we had an interest in.”</p>
