Could Spider-Man 2099 Exist?

His name is Miguel O’Hara, and he’s his dimension’s one and only Spider-Man…at least, he was. But he’s not like the others, so I’d like to take a look at what sets him apart and ask: could our dimension ever have a Spider-Man like him? In previous articles, I looked at what it would take for scientists to create a real-life Spider-Man. While Miguel can replicate most of those abilities, he does so in a completely different way.

Spider-Man 2099 has the following powers:

Superhuman Strength, Durability, Speed, and Agility: Like most spider-people, Miguel can hit harder and move quicker than other humans.

Enhanced Senses and Reaction Time: Unlike most spider-people, Miguel does not have a spider sense. He makes up for this with superhuman sight and hearing. Plus, he still has that trademark Spidey reaction time.

Retractable Claws: Miguel also lacks the stickiness that allows other spider-people to stick to walls, but he can extend incredibly strong and sharp claws from his fingers and toes. He uses these to dig his extremities into walls and tear through pretty much anything.

Paralyzing Venom: Miguel has fangs with which he can bite enemies and inject a venom capable of paralyzing them.

Shape-Changing Suit: The most recent incarnation of Miguel has a futuristic suit that appears and disappears according to his will. Despite looking like a hologram, it is very tangible. It can morph into a wing suit and grow a pair of arm blades that are as intimidating as they are functional.
