<p>One of the forms of this entertainment are the ones based on so-called quantum physics. Notice first that, without high-tech (expensive) instruments, no form of life could detect atoms and their components (so-called “quarks”) Only particle physicists can have and use these instruments. There are no grocery clerks with particle accelerators. Most of us are in other occupations so we don’t “need” them to live our lives. <p>The other most common type of speculative entertainment is that of the question, “How did life begin?” Here we have another element in the misguided thought experiment, we cannot literally see back in time to observe and measure the event. This is the same misguided position taken by religious people — both just “believe” they never speculate but appear to be convinced.</p>
