<p>The recent high profile grizzly <a href="https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/hong-kong-model-abby-choi-murder-ex-husband-family-charged-3306336" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">suspected murder case</a> of Hong Kong socialite Abby Choi brought to my attention the eatery chain TamJai Yunnan Mixian, as the mourning partner of Choi, Tam Chuk Kwan, is the son of Tam Chap Kwan, who is the founder of said eatery chain.</p>
<p>As you guessed it, TamJai Yunnan Mixian is indeed related to the similarly named TamJai Sam Gor Mixian outlets in Singapore. In 2020, TamJai Sam Gor Mixian opened its first restaurants outside of Hong Kong — in Singapore at locations like Bedok Mall, VivoCity and Chinatown Point. At the time of writing, there are nine TamJai Sam Gor Mixian outlets in Singapore, according to their official takeaway orders page.</p>
